Carnations
There are two types of carnations e.g. standard and spray, the standard carnation has one large headed bloom per stem whilst the spray carnation heads are smaller and there are around 5 or 6 heads per stem.   The carnation flower comes in most colours (but not blue or black) they are also available all year round.  The green carnation is a trend setter.

Over recent years the carnation has tended to be over looked or thought of as an old fashioned granny flower but recently they are now coming back in vogue as the younger girls are finding them for the first time!   Over the years, production has become limited which now has them in the same price bracket as roses!!

They are a versatile long lasting flower which is easy to work with and will last on very hot days out of water.
